Ecommerce is one of the most tainted markets. Meaning that there are just a ton of scammers. When I first started working online, I got scammed quite a lot by these people.

In order to find out which one is the best directory for dropshipping, we first need to find out which one has the best suppliers and products.
As mentioned above, finding quality products is one of the most important success factors when talking about an ecommerce business.
If you’ve read my full SaleHoo review, you know that the platform currently has more than 8000 suppliers, and almost 2 million products. Another cool thing about it is that it’s very easy to find products in specific niches.
You can (and should) find suppliers from China, United Kingdom, New Zeeland and United States. In my experience, these are the easiest to deal with and the most reliable. Also, they tend to have good quality products.
Doba has less suppliers (200) and kinda works as a middle man between you and the suppliers. Meaning that you can’t directly talk to the suppliers.
That’s quite bad because you are very limited. Your orders will be fulfilled by Doba in stead of you communicating with suppliers. As you can imagine, this is not ideal.
Both SaleHoo and Doba are reliable dropshipping platforms. However, as mentioned above, the way they do things is quite different.
SaleHoo gives you the opportunity to talk to suppliers. Which means that you have the option to negotiate lower prices, ask for samples, check the product quality, go to the warehouse yourself and check if everything is allright and so on.
On the other hand, Doba does not allow you to communicate with the suppliers. They process your orders themselves, and the dropshipping suppliers send the products directly to the customer.
If you view ecommerce as a long term business (which you should), keep in mind that you can develop a relationship with the suppliers. Even to this day, I’m working with people that I’ve met many years ago.
I would go as far as saying that I’ve met friends in this business. Obviously this is a big advantage, as I can get lower prices.

So, to answer your question, I would say SaleHoo gives you the opportunity to increase your profits, as you have a couple of advantages when directly dealing with the suppliers.
If you have read other articles from this blog, you know that SaleHoo has an amazing customer support. They are always very friendly and helpful whenever you have problems.
Also, it has a lot of learning resources which you can use to grow your business. Their forum is also very helpful whenever you need it. There are a lot of experienced entrepreneurs that you can ask questions to.
Doba also has a good customer support, but unfortunately they don’t provide any other materials. Also, they have live chat and you can even call them if you face more difficult problems.
To sum it up, both platforms have good customer support. In my opinion, both of their customer support services are much better than most of the other directories.
SaleHoo entices you to learn how to do things yourself. This is a very good thing, as it helps you develop as an entrepreneur.
On the other hand, Doba leans more towards the “done for you” side. This is not bad to be honest, but in my experience, you are much better off when doing everything yourself.
This can help you further down the line when you start outsourcing some of your workflow.
SaleHoo vs Doba – Pricing
Doba is more on the expensive side, offering you multiple payment options. They have plans ranging from $29 to $249 per month. The “Advanced” plan is the most popular among the Doba users, offering you all the goodies.
You have the option to try Doba for 30 days for free without putting any of your information. You can do that in order to try the platform yourself, before committing to an investment.
On the other hand, SaleHoo lets you try it for $1. After that, they charge you $67 per year.
You can obviously cancel your subscription at any time you wish.
Keep in mind that if you go for Doba’s cheapest plan, you will not be able to access some of their best features. Overall, I would say that for $67 per year, Salehoo is the better option.
Final Thoughts – Doba vs SaleHoo
It is clear that Doba caters to people who are certain they want to take the dropshipping route and have a larger budget to spend.
The fact that they don’t allow you to communicate with suppliers can be a deal breaker for some (like me).
SaleHoo is a more budget friendly option and a very good one. I use it for several years and don’t intend changing anytime soon.
